Mentioned it before, no one does black like Levi. 501 are great (but never wear button fly to the bar!), but my fave is the red tab, black, Levi Metro Fit.
I mean black should be black, right? But the denim and the dye Levi used in various incarnations made black four or five different colours.
So you know I am G.W.G. blue, white and turquoise blue, but Levi aced black. ACED. And did black back pocket stitching on black … hoot
Speaking of black Levi’s, and jumping over the spam, amid my sea of G.W.G. in my closet, I have a pair of Metrofit black (red tab) Levi and a pair of Relaxed fit black red tabs.
The major difference seems to be the weight of denim.
So, question 1 is, is that the only difference?
Question 2 is, are Metro and Relaxed the only Levi styles that don’t have numbers?
Hi GWGguy,
I know there are some other styles that Levi’s has made throughout the years that don’t have a number (in fact, I think there are some in their current line) but I’m not sure where there might be a list of these styles.
Did a search, turns out the “Relaxed Fit” do have a number: Levi 550.
Cool, if only because I like tradition.
